On Monday, July 25, police blocked off NW Second Ave between 27th and 28th streets in Wynwood as a mob gathered to watch Will Smith and the crew of Suicide Squad unveil a new mural themed after the upcoming movie. Local street artists Diana "Didirok" Contreras and Amanda Valdes spent a week collaboratively painting the wall. To hype the unveil, Warner Bros. threw an afternoon block party hosted by DJ Laz. Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado stopped by to say a few words on stage before the reveal. Slideshow for Miami New Times.

Wynwood Brewing Block Party

Wynwood Brewing closed down the block of NW 24th street Saturday, August 15, lining it with food trucks and beer tents for a free block party to celebrate the company's second anniversary. I braved the crowded street with my camera and caught the city getting it's local beer buzz on. Slideshow for Miami New Times.
