Miami's favorite monthly queer party, Counter Corner, celebrated its move from the Corner Bar to 1306 on Sunday, June 18, with another wild edition of contemporary drag for a packed house. Hosted by Hialeah's Finest, Juleisy y Karla, the night featured performances from a variety of local queens, including Queef Latina, the freshly crowned New Times 2017 Readers' Choice for Best Drag Queen. Roller Disco / Faena Forum

Sunday, June 11, Second Sundays at Faena Forum premiered its new installation ángeles veloces arcanos fugaces by assume vivid astro focus with a '70s-style roller disco free and open to the public featuring projection visuals and funky jams spun live by local DJ Dude Skywalker. Skaters of all ages enjoyed an afternoon of colorful ambiance, cocktails, snacks, and games in the rink. Second Sundays will take place the second Sunday each month this summer. Miami Beach Gay Pride

Miami's LGBT community gathered along Ocean Drive on Sunday, April 10 to celebrate free sexuality & gay pride. The city's official parade ran from 12-2 p.m., then the partying continued throughout the afternoon on the beach and street-side restaurants & bars. Slideshows for Miami New Times.

Young Artist Initiative @ SLS

The Young Artist Initiative threw their best event yet on Friday, Jan 29 at SLS, drawing almost 2,000 people out to get down with local Miami music and art. The poolside cabanas were turned into individual artist tents filled with live painting and projections, while the courtyard was strung with lights and installation art.
