Jeremiah Bullfrog's annual Pork Is Good Festival returned to Little Haiti Cultural Center on Sunday, November 4, for an afternoon of awesome eats featuring pork delicacies from a collection of Miami's favorite restaurants. Downtown nightclub 1306 oozed with creatures late Friday night, October 12, for Zombie Prom, a dance for the undead. The Bermuda Triangle family presented Lamebot, the Galactic Effect, and local favorite vampire Otto Von Schirach to perform music and rituals for a live monster audience.
Red Bull Music created a warehouse boiler room out of C&L Trading for Swetboxx on Friday, October 5. Hosted by local queer icons Queef Latina, Miss Toto, and Gami, the lineup featured fierce headliners Quay Dash, Discwoman, Papi Juice, and NAAFI alongside Miami's own Internet Friends, Fempower, and Get Face. Sets were broken up by performances from local queens, including Persephone Von Lips, Jupiter Velvet, Andro Gin, King Femme, Opulence Queen, and Mthr Trsa. The September edition of Miami's favorite queer punk party, Gender Blender, took over Las Rosas Sunday night, September 23 for a lineup of rowdy live rock and experimental drag. Pigface and the Destroyers defiled the stage between performances from Kunst and Florida Man. For a $2 fee, patrons could purchase a hand-written fortune from a live teller boxed by the back bar.
