As the coronavirus pandemic continues to worsen across the country, Miami residents began to practice social distancing - a preventative measure suggested by local authorities, but not yet formally ordered like it has been other heavily affected states like New York and California. Most open public spaces in Miami — including Wynwood, the Design District, downtown Miami, Brickell, and Lincoln Road — were almost entirely empty by Sunday, March 22, except for small groups of wandering tourists and individuals exercising or walking their dogs. Restaurants, bars, nightclubs, retail and other “non-essential” businesses have been ordered to close, and curtail any food services to pickup and delivery only. Shot for Miami New Times.

Destructo teamed up with AMFAMFAMF and Dirtybird to bring a Breakfast Club sunrise party to 1-800-Lucky in Wynwood from 5 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24. Wu-Tang Clan / Mana Wynwood
Wu-Tang Clan closed out III Points' 2017 Art Basel Concert Series with a heavy-hitting, sold-out show at Mana Wynwood on Saturday, December 9. The stage transformed into Shaolin Apartments on 160 Park Hill, as GZA, RZA, Raekwon, Method Man, and U-God maintained high-energy flow for a thirsty crowd that chanted along with old-school favorites. Bearded Villains Miami / World Meet
On Saturday, August 12, the Miami Chapter of Bearded Villains — a philanthropic organization with some serious facial hair — hosted a world meet at Wynwood Café. National and international members hailing from places like Puerto Rico, the UK, and Colombia, came together to drink local brews, award the best styled and natural beards, and raise proceeds for Behavior Links, a nonprofit that helps children with disabilities in orphanages worldwide. National Donut Day
Wynwood's BarWorks hosted its second-annual National Doughnut Day celebration Friday, June 2, featuring a special dulce de leche doughnut from the Salty Donut, doughnut-infused brews from J. Wakefield, signature cocktails, and fresh bites from Coyo Taco.
