Critical Mass Miami
A slew of Miami cyclists congregated downtown on Friday, April 29 for the city's monthly critical mass meetup. It was still warm and muggy by 7:30 p.m., but clear skies gave the herd of bikers a pastel backdrop as they rode from Miami's Government Center to Hialeah Park and back. The Beyhive Swarms Marlins Park
Beyonce kicked off her Formation world tour in Miami with a show at Marlins park on Wednesday, April 27. Queen Bey didn't approve any photographers for the event, so I hung outside the park and shot the beyhive descending on Little Havana. Fiercest crowd I've photographed to date. People Watching @ Miami Music Week
Miami Music Week is my favorite time of the year. People flood in from all over the country, abandoning their boring jobs and usual selves to get lit in one of the few American cities still warm in mid-March. Similar to Art Basel, there's a million things to do every day for more than a week and it can be difficult to figure out what's worth your time (and money). After hitting a few South Beach hotel parties and a Friday night downtown post-Ultra, Get Lost at Little River Studios felt like a unique alternative to the overwhelmingly EDM scene. They created my favorite use of a space, and housed the funkiest crowd I saw all weekend. It was a hustle trying to hit as many events as I could in four days, but there's no better time to be out with a camera in Miami. Slideshow for Miami New Times.
People Watching @ Calle Ocho Carnaval
Calle Ocho was loud and colorful for Carnaval on Sunday, March 13.
