Get Lost @ Lemon City Studios

Miami Music Week's annual 24-hour dance party Get Lost returned to a new space this year at Lemon City Studios in Miami's Little River neighborhood on March 24. The outdoor grounds maintained the party's signature bohemian aesthetic with sprawling couches, tropical plants, lights, and four stages — two main setups outside, and two smaller rooms inside — each buzzing with their own habitat of live sounds and DJ. Headliners included Art Department, Soul Clap, Seth Troxler, Damian Lazarus, Black Coffee, Thugfucker, and others. Shot for Miami New Times.

Carnaval Street Fest / Calle Ocho

On Sunday, March 11, Little Havana was brimming with live music, dancing, Latin pride, and authentic street food for Carnaval Miami's annual Calle Ocho Street Festival. Miami's iconic Eighth Street was closed to traffic from SW 12th to 27th Avenues as local vendors and stages lined the blocks with cold drinks, grilled delicacies and rhythmic sounds to satisfy a hungry crowd in the afternoon heat. 2nd Annual Wigwood Queer Festival

The second-annual Wigwood Queer Festival returned to Miami for a weekend of live performances, local vendors, panels, and a place to party in a safe, inclusive space. Friday night kicked off at the Scottish Rite Temple downtown featuring major headliners Thorgy of RuPaul's Drag Race, Victoria Elizabeth Black of Dragula, Sateen, Evah Destruction, Imp Queen, and a perfomance from local icon Queef Latina. Saturday night returned to Gramps Wynwood for a lineup of Miami's finest including Miss Toto, Jupiter Velvet, Dang-ho Yu Sickning, Poorgrrrl, and many others. Love Burn 2018 / Virginia Key Park

Burning Man brought its regional world fair to Historic Virginia Key Beach January 26 through 28 for a Miami-style Love Burn in one of the few U.S. cities still comfortable this time of year. Burners were invited to re-imagine the world we live in as they wish it were, while contributing to a uniquely communal and creatively constructed festival experience. Shot for Miami New Times.
