Young Artist Initiative @ SLS
The Young Artist Initiative threw their best event yet on Friday, Jan 29 at SLS, drawing almost 2,000 people out to get down with local Miami music and art. The poolside cabanas were turned into individual artist tents filled with live painting and projections, while the courtyard was strung with lights and installation art. Two separate music halls featured a staggered lineup local djs + producers spinning their signature sounds concurrently. Photos for Young Artist Initiative.
Lazy Sunday @ The Standard
Sunday's brisk, clear weather made for a perfect lazy afternoon of drinking and grilling outside at Camp Standard to celebrate its 10th Anniversary. Slideshow for Miami New Times.
Grand Opening @ El Patio Wynwood
El Patio Wynwood packed the house with latin funk for their grand opening Friday, Jan 22 featuring local Miami band Xperimento. Heavy on the brass, the high energy music and space heaters kept the outside venue warm and alive all night. Slideshow for Miami New Times.
Vail
I spent the most amazing, cold, hectic weekend over MLK Holiday up in the Colorado mountains shooting a music video for my friend Gabriel Berenbaum. We flew into Denver Friday morning, then drove two hours west into the cozy town of Vail, nestled between the Rockies. Saturday and Sunday were long and frigid - we shot from shortly after sunrise to sunset both days, then spent Monday morning gathering drone footage before heading back to the airport. We were blessed with two perfect, overcast days of powdered flurries, and a crisp, clear morning Monday that warmed up enough to use the drone without freezing it. The trip feels like a blur now - the mountains were so grand in person and the cold was refreshing in such a small dose, I wish we had a couple more nights to enjoy Colorado but it was an incredible (and intensive) four day hustle.
