Get Lost @ Lemon City Studios
Miami Music Week's annual 24-hour dance party Get Lost returned to a new space this year at Lemon City Studios in Miami's Little River neighborhood on March 24. The outdoor grounds maintained the party's signature bohemian aesthetic with sprawling couches, tropical plants, lights, and four stages — two main setups outside, and two smaller rooms inside — each buzzing with their own habitat of live sounds and DJ. Headliners included Art Department, Soul Clap, Seth Troxler, Damian Lazarus, Black Coffee, Thugfucker, and others. Shot for Miami New Times.
Breakfast Club / 1-800-Lucky
Destructo teamed up with AMFAMFAMF and Dirtybird to bring a Breakfast Club sunrise party to 1-800-Lucky in Wynwood from 5 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24. Attendees adorned oven mitts, aprons, bathrobes, and breakfast food costumes while sipping on cocktails and welcoming the morning sun. Shot for Miami New Times.
Noche de Brujas / Faena Forum
Noche de Brujas brewed a powerful evening of experimental, interdisciplinary magic performed by a woman-focused lineup of local and visiting artists on Friday, March 23, at Faena Forum. The main floor remained open for attendees to fill in around an architectural orb in the center, each performer finding a unique way to inhabit this living altar while projections engulfed the surrounding walls. Featured artists included Juliana Huxtable, Suzi Analogue, Kalup Linzy, Virgo, Jen DeNike, Poorgrrrl, Voila Snow, Ife-Ile, Sandflower, Georgia Wall, Carlos Betancourt, and TM Sisters. Get Lost / Little River Studios
Get Lost returned to Little River Studios on Saturday, March 25 for its second 24-hour electro getdown during Miami Music Week. They maintained the same colorful, bohemian aesthetic as last year across an assortment of small, wooden houses with four stages carved out in between: two outdoors, and two inside the glowing warehouse. Scattered showers broke up the crowd a couple times throughout the day, but the party resurfaced as skies cleared into the glowing night. Slideshow for Miami New Times.

People Watching @ Miami Music Week
Miami Music Week is my favorite time of the year. People flood in from all over the country, abandoning their boring jobs and usual selves to get lit in one of the few American cities still warm in mid-March. Similar to Art Basel, there's a million things to do every day for more than a week and it can be difficult to figure out what's worth your time (and money). After hitting a few South Beach hotel parties and a Friday night downtown post-Ultra, Get Lost at Little River Studios felt like a unique alternative to the overwhelmingly EDM scene. They created my favorite use of a space, and housed the funkiest crowd I saw all weekend. It was a hustle trying to hit as many events as I could in four days, but there's no better time to be out with a camera in Miami. Slideshow for Miami New Times.
